Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

Assisted Lives has a great deal of experience working with people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. We understand the impact it can have on the person and on the family. In the earlier stages of dementia, our services focus on enabling the person to remain independent and self-caring by introducing tactics for managing memory loss. As the condition progresses, our support can accommodate the person’s changing needs and increasing need for support with self-care and other day to day tasks such as food preparation and shopping. All the time, our aim is to enable the person to enjoy as high a quality of life as possible. We are sensitive to the emotional impact of dementia and the challenges that can arise from behaviour and personality changes and we are experienced at supporting people and their families to deal with these.
